We are looking for a compassionate and reliable PSW to join our team, that is able to start ASAP and work in a Long Term Care Facility.

Responsibilities:

• Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning and disinfecting assigned surfaces including walls, windows, flooring, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Maintaining waste and linen removal
• Help the residents with meals, cleaning, escorting, diaper changes, getting dressed etc
• Operating and maintaining housekeeping equipment and implements
• Maintaining appropriate inventory and replenishment of unit specific supplies
• Utilizes procedures as trained in compliance with Health and Safety and Infection Control
• Attentive to care, consideration, and confidentiality of residents, staff and visitors
• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent;
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and related bedside care to residents. Must be familiar with department policies and procedures.
• Must understand the basics of good sanitation and sterile techniques. Knowledgeable with respect to the needs of geriatric residents;
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs (occasional to frequent), prolonged walking, standing, reaching
• Reliable, enthusiastic, able to prioritize, and to follow detailed instructions without direct supervision
• Reading and writing English fluently, and able to converse in English clearly
• 1-2 years experience in a Long Term Care Facility.
• CPR & First Aid.
• Latest Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• 2 Step TB Test or CXR (Chest Xray) if TB Test is positive.
• Immunization Records.
• Fully Vaccinated for Covid-19 with booster shot.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 24-40 per week

Salary: Up to $25.00 per hour

• French not required

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Hamilton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

• CPR Certification (preferred)
• PSW Certification (required)
