We are seeking an experienced shift supervisor to join our team on the midnight shift. This is a supervisor (level 2) position, where you are in charge of the people on your shift and assigning the work tasks, and also ensuring all production demands are met.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for management and control of production processes, function and personnel within the composite area

Assign tasks to composite technicians

Key and facility entry duties and responsibilities

Ensure jobs are completed within the required time schedule

Train composite technicians

Monitor production processes to ensure high efficiency and throughput while exceeding customer’s quality expectations

Managing the disciplinary process of midnight shift employee and counselling as necessary

Review customer complaints focusing on improving areas of concern, understanding that customer relationships and sensitivity are the highest priority. Ensure composite personnel are aware of concerns raised in view of corrective actions that may need to be addressed.

Effectively liaise with other members of divisional team, FPH Group, customers and outside suppliers

Contribute as a functional member of the production team

Using lean manufacturing principles arrange shop layout and workflow for efficiency

Design or recommend special tools and fixtures to aid in production

Driven to ensure all key performance indicator targets are met

Work with ERP software to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness

Work in HRM software ensuring accuracy of employee punches, vacation schedules and time off

Complete yearly/ probationary reviews for employees on shift

Time management skills to serve several customers at the same time.

Follow regulations and policies as outlined in company’s employee handbook

Follow requirements as required by ISO registration

Follow requirements as required by Controlled Goods Registration and other defense sector registrations (ie ITAR, etc.)

In accordance with the health & safety policy, follow and exceed the legislative requirements outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act in order to provide a safe & healthy workplace for all employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Secondary School Graduate

MUST be a Canadian citizen and be able to provide proof of Canadian citizenship with either a passport, birth certificate or citizenship card

Experience in product and services provided by FPH Group Inc. – understanding basics of the terminology and different applications

PC knowledge of spreadsheets (Excel)

Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, schematics and part lists

Knowledge and experience in production methods and techniques

Ability to instruct and train personnel

Ability to work within a diverse team

Experience with Microsoft Office Productivity Suite

Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Ability to learn ERP Software packages

Able to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment demonstrating excellent organizational and time management skills

Demonstrate initiative, reliability and positive team attitude

Must be able to work 10 hour shifts: midnight shift from 7:30pm - 6:00am (Mon- Thu)

Must be able to successfully pass a controlled goods background check
