The Marketing Manager manages a team of social media managers and content creators and helps to lead the direction of the product's social media strategy across all social platforms. This role will be responsible for helping to define and document the high-level strategies and the working with all other departments and external stakeholders to create feasible timelines and asset briefs for all assets required to execute the strategy. Further to handling the scope, timeline and distribution of work the Marketing Manager will act as a career manager for all the social media teams staff. This involves executing the strategic plan process and conducting 1:1’s to help support the team members and facilitate the creation of their personal and departmental goals.
The Marketing Manager will work closely with all other operation and marketing departments to help communication and requirements flow in and out of the social media department ensuring that processes are in place to maintain order and appropriate scoping. The ideal candidate will be a great communicator and be very detail-oriented with strong project and people management skills. They will understand the social media landscape well and have worked with creatives before. Knowledge of the free-to-play mobile space and the Avatar franchise will be a bonus.
Responsibilities:
Duties:
- Assist in and support the creation and maintain a content calendar to support marketing initiatives across all social media channels
- Develop creative and engaging social media campaign content ideas to retain and attract new followers to our social media.
- Collaborate regularly with Product Marketing, Customer Service, Product Development and Live Operations to ensure communications are accurate and support key initiatives
- Collaborate with social media content creators on your team to make creative content that will drive followers to engage, react, and share (including contests and sweepstakes, wallpapers, character spotlight videos, holiday and special events, etc.)
- Work closely with appropriate departments to identify emerging in-game issues and craft all player-facing communication regarding active bugs and solutions
- Ensure that the tone of voice and brand standards are followed in all communications
- Monitor, track, and report social community metrics in order to gather insights and assist with data-based decision-making surrounding channel content and marketing initiatives
- Understand audiences and targeting for campaigns with specific outcomes.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the available core social media platforms and how their users like to interact with content.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience driving social media and community engagement initiatives
- 2 years of people management or project management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with task tracking and project management practices
- Experience career managing direct reports.
- Have a passion for mobile gaming, bonus points if you love RPGs and the Avatar Franchise
- A strong understanding of online platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok)
- Self-starter & Results-driven - you can work both independently and with little direction and are constantly seeking opportunities to excel & go beyond your role.
