Wollaston Lake Lodge is an Orvis Endorsed catch and release fishing lodge in Northern Saskatchewan. For over 24 years, we have hosted world class fishing trips for our guests from the beginning of June until the end of August. On average there is about 50 guests in camp at a time and we will host up to 800 guests in a season.

We are currently looking to fill our summer 2023 positions! The 2023 position will run from the end of May to end of August. We offer a great way to earn and save money over the summer! You must be passionate about the outdoors and customer hospitality. Successful candidates must be able to work independently, part of a team, and must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis.

MAINTENANCE/MECHANIC POSITION SUMMARY

As the maintenance mechanic, you will be responsible to install, repair, and maintain equipment at our lodge included but not limited to fishing motors, laundry equipment, generators, etc. The Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the general upkeep and ensure that lodge equipment is always safe and functional

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on equipment around camp including outboard motors
• Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary
• Able to maintain outboard/marine engines, diesel engines, gas powered equipment
• Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance
• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts
• Able to diagnose engine problems and do appropriate repairs
• Orders and installs replacement parts for machines
• Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines
• Weekly ordering of parts
• Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently
• Performs routine tasks and scheduled maintenance to prevent problems before they arise
• Maintains cosmetic maintenance around lodge such as applying new coats of paint or trimming trees
• Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
• Performs other related duties as assigned

MAINTENANCE - POSITION SUMMARY

· Able to do basic electrical repairs

· Maintain and replace pumps in the septic field

· Do general maintenance on plumbing

· Basic fixing and repairs on 21 cabins

· Able to use a table saw

· General wood working projects

· Able to assist the mechanic in larger and daily maintenance and repairs

· Able to operate and maintain landscape equipment

· Repair and maintenance and laundry equipment

· Handy in all trades

QUALIFICATIONS

· Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills

· Works well independently and with others

· Organized with attention to detail

· Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire 10-hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs.

· Must be willing to tolerate seasonal weather conditions

· Must be able to handle all physical aspects of the job, which include lifting/moving heavy equipment (approx. 50 lbs)

· Must be authorized to work in the Canada on a full-time basis for any employer

· First Aid & CPR

· Boat Operator Card

· Not necessary but an asset – small engine certificate and/or mechanic certificate, able to run a bobcat, Class 2 bus license
