Southern Comfort Mechanical Inc. is a growing company, and we are currently seeking a Journeyperson Electrician to join our team! Our head office is currently based in Niverville, MB; however, we will be moving to our brand new location in Grande Pointe in spring 2023.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Complete low voltage and control scopes on SCMI commercial projects.
• Complete high and low voltage scopes on a portion of SCMI residential projects.
• Manage job schedules and procure materials.
• Plan and execute on the required scope of work.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems when they arise and continue to ensure SCMI is portrayed in a professional manner at all times.
• Other tasks as periodically reviewed and assigned.

Requirements:

• High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years as a journeyperson, with a strong understanding of controls.
• Obtaining City of Winnipeg Contractor's License will eventually be required.
• Strong knowledge of the Electrical Code.
• Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Must be a team player that can also work independently when required.
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
• Able to work well under pressure.

Working Conditions:

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Rotational on-call schedule.
• Overtime as required.
• Hazards associated with the trade.
• Working both indoors and outdoors.
• May be exposed to high levels of noise.
