About the Role – How you will Contribute to the Service:
The Halton Regional Police Service is seeking a permanent full time Investigative Analyst with proven experience in conducting research in support of investigations such as drugs and human trafficking as well as fraud, homicide and intelligence. This is a rewarding position for an ambitious candidate with excellent results orientated, problem solving and research skills.
Skills and Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of related experience having developed a solid foundation in tools, methods and techniques used in tactical crime and intelligence analysis work
- Proven ability to conduct thorough research weaving together information from various sources into actionable intelligence applying appropriate analytical principles, methods and techniques
- Undergraduate University degree in a relevant field such as geography, statistics, mathematics or criminology etc
- Well versed in the use of the ArcGIS and i2 Analysts Notebook software packages
- Ability to deal with cleaning, manipulating and interpreting large data sets
- Ability to speak and write in a clear, concise and accurate manner
- Previous policing and/or law enforcement experience is considered an asset
- Certification as a Crime / Intelligence Analyst through the IACA or IALEIA is an asset
Note: The successful applicant will need to pass a background check to the satisfaction of the Service which will include reference checks with previous employers, verification of educational achievements, and a criminal background screen.

The salary range for this position is $82,733 to $90,916.
