Required Qualifications

• Masters in Early Childhood Education.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate adult learning.
• Demonstrated excellence in planning, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with online learning environments/teaching – (Moodle).
• Experience with infant care, child care and/or school-aged care.
• Understanding of Alberta’s Child Care Licensing regulations.
• Competent computer skills.
• Experience instructing adults at a college level would be a definite asset.
• Experience working with community organizations and children’s programs.
• Experience working with students with special needs.

Job Description
Keyano College is a comprehensive community institution in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. The College provides lifelong, relevant, and practical learning opportunities and is committed to increasing access to post-secondary programs.

The School of Health and Human Services is currently seeking a Childhood Studies Instructor (Term) who will instruct courses in the Applied Early Learning and Child Care program.

The successful candidate would ideally have experience/expertise in the following:

• Practicum supervision in the ELCC environment with an understanding of competency-based assessment.
• Deep understanding of the Learning Through Play philosophy.
• Experience with a problem-solving philosophy of guiding children’s behavior.
• Understanding of Child Development and Developmentally Appropriate Practice.
• Proven skills in Group and Team Dynamics, Family Relationships, and Interpersonal Communication.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development.

• Evening and weekend instructional hours will be required.

*This position is a term position starting November 2022 ending on or before November 1st, 2023 with the possibility of an extension.

This position qualifies for the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month. This allowance is reviewed annually and is subject to budget approval.

Advertised Salary
Faculty salary range is $71,785.48 to $121,523.99 per annum. Placement on the salary grid is reflective upon educational and experiential qualifications. Keyano College also offers an attractive benefits package.
