The HR Generalist will provide consistent employee relations, policy and program support to create an environment where individuals and teams can thrive and deliver high performance. The HR Generalist will build strong relationships with business managers and collaborate with the HR Manager to execute on aligned local, regional and corporate human resources programs and initiatives successfully within a location or region.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the first point of contact for all Texcan employees and leadership on Human Resources related policies, programs, and issues, working within provincial and federal legislation and corporate policy.
  • Support supervisors and managers with human resource and employee relations matters; investigates and reports on allegations of workplace harassment, discrimination and violence; providing support, guidance, coaching and recommendations for problem resolution as needed to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Supports and implement HR programs including but not limited to annual performance management, disability management and return to work plans, onboarding, orientation, merit review cycle, attendance management, training and development, etc.
  • Assists with employee documentation; maintain information integrity and execute proper record keeping practices in HRIS and the filing system.
  • Ensure all new hires, status changes and terminations are communicated effectively. Conduct exit interviews and create reports.
  • HRIS support – Success Factor and ADP, including technical support to end users.
  • Support and contribute to continuous process improvement and streamlining of all HR processes.

Requirements:
  • 10 years of generalist experience
  • HRIS experience (Success Factors and ADP considered an asset)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel (VLookup, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • College Diploma in Human Resources preferred
  • CHRP designation or working towards is preferred
  • ATS and sales recruiting experience an asset
  • Understanding of HR governance, legislation and regulatory environment
  • Demonstrated business acumen and consulting skills
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and resourceful
  • Strong leadership, coaching, facilitation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30-40% in Western Canada
