Position Highlights

ICBC has an interesting and new opportunity for a Workforce Planning Specialist to join our HR team. We are looking for an

individual with HR Business Partnering experience, combined with expertise in utilizing workforce data, to inform HR programs

and practices driving to effective workforce planning. The individual will work closely with the analytics teams across the

organization, business leaders, and the HR team overall including Talent Acquisition and the HR Business Partner team.

Playing a key role in establishing ICBC’s Organization Design & Workforce Planning Centre of Excellence (CoE), the HR

Workforce Planning Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining ICBC’s operational workforce plan and

engaging in strategic workforce planning, helping to ensure the organization has the right talent in place at the right time to

support its business strategy. This will include defining a workforce planning methodology, framework, standard processes, and

tools, to enable ICBC to identify workforce needs and future skills gaps so that they can be proactively addressed.

Key responsibilities in this role include:
  • Design, implementation, and adoption of workforce planning frameworks, methodologies, metrics, processes, and supporting
tools

  • Transform data into meaningful business insights and actionable plans
  • Work with HR analytics and the business to help shape the design and development of predictive modelling to create
simulations or forecasting models in HR space to help organization make fact-based talent planning decision and proactive

people strategies pertaining to future workforce

  • Provide insights on HR data to both technical and business leaders to formulate actionable strategies on improving business
performance (ie, recruiting activities, absences, attritions, disability management, etc.)

  • Work closely with HR and business leaders to integrate standardized workforce planning practices into the organization
  • Participate in large project/program design and provides advice and subject matter expertise to achieve required business
results

  • Provide workforce planning services to the business including analyzing workforce and skill gaps, and developing a workforce
planning action plan including monitoring progress and updating the business

  • Identify and communicate workforce trends to the business to highlight future resourcing opportunities and risks
  • Facilitate discussions on key strategic workforce trends and demands, predictive resourcing and capability insights, and future
skill gaps and provides guidance to an executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/

frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)

  • Leverage research, data, and analysis to tell a story and gain buy-in when making workforce planning recommendations

Position Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Several years of experience in HR Business Partnering combined with solid understanding/experience working with HR
workforce data and insights or related experience in previous roles involving strategic workforce planning

  • Demonstrated application of best practices in the full range of workforce planning activities
  • Partner with the Analytics team to help build models, analyze and drive out insights and work to formulate actionable HR
strategies

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. Human Resources, Statistics, Business Management and Operations,
Business Administration, Psychology, etc.)

  • Active listening to truly understand the needs of HR and the needs of the business
  • Experience working within the insurance industry is an asset.
