GENERAL LABOURER

Primary Responsibilities/Duties:

· Reporting to Site Superintendent / Supervisor

· Clean and perform preparation of job site materials and equipment

· Measure and cut material

· Basic equipment operation (may include plate packers, ride-on road packers, power brooms, small water truck, etc.)

· Handle and transport job materials to the work areas

· Operate hand and power tools

· Provide assistance to craft workers

· Complying with all safety requirements of the job

· All other labour duties as required and assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

· Minimum 1-year experience in commercial and/or industrial construction

· Criminal Background Check as required for secure sites

· Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications/Assets:

· Preferred three (3) years of experience in heavy civil construction

· Class 3 License w/ Air

· Experience operating Heavy Equipment

· Ability to think logically about work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.

Ability to:

• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with supervisors, peers, and clients.

· Ability to travel where projects dictate

· Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather

· Ability to work long and unpredictable hours

• Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, and lift 50 lbs.

Hours of Work: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (subject to change based on work schedule and season)

Hour Wage Range: $20.53 - $25.40 (depending upon experience, qualifications)
