Securitas has an opportunity for a Risk- Based Security Guard which requires specialized training. To apply to this posting, you must have Advanced Security Training (AST).

Pay Rate: $24.50 per hour for 42.5 hours per week and willing to work on some Saturdays.

The schedule may be subject to change on various days that are required by the client. Must be available for all shift times listed below:

• Monday: 0900hrs to 1730hrs
• Tuesday: 0900hrs to 1730hrs
• Wednesday: 0900hrs to 1730hrs
• Thursday: 0900hrs to 1730hrs
• Friday: 0900hrs to 1730hrs
• Saturday: 0900hrs to 1630hrs

The following are the requirements of this Risk-Based Security Guard

· Advanced Security Training (AST) Certificate - BC

· Valid OFA 1 (or willing to obtain)

· Must be Physically Fit, able to stand for extended durations, able to lift 30 kg

· Ability to function well in a team environment

· High degree of personal integrity

· Sound Judgement

· Able to deescalate difficult situations

· Willing to attended advanced security training courses

· Naloxone/Narcan training (or willing to obtain) and willingness to Administer

· Excellent verbal and written English language skills.

· Excellent observation and report writing skills

• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Current and valid B.C. Security Guard License
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills

· Preference to those with Martial Arts Training (certified)

· Training in Use of Force (or willing to obtain)

Additional Primary responsibilities of the Risk Based Security Guard but not limited to:

· Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property its assets, and personnel.

· Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.

· Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.

· Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.

· Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.

· Satisfy client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.

· Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.

· Ability to use computer systems

· Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

· Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.

· Use of communication systems to report and inform.

· Prepares logs and reports as required
