Boeing Winnipeg is seeking an Associate Stress Engineer to join our team in our Winnipeg, MB location.
Position Responsibilities:
Performs basic structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
Supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
Works under general supervision.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Winnipeg, MB.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in a relevant field of Engineering
Must be registered, or eligible to be registered, with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as an E.I.T (Engineer in Training) or P. Eng. (Professional Engineer)
2+ years of experience in stress analysis
Must have experience working with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations within Boeing and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience in structural analysis of various airframe structures.
Experience performing stress analysis using both hand calculations and finite element tools
Experience with structural analysis of metallic and composite structures.
Experience with static and fatigue analysis
Robust understanding of engineering fundamentals such as material properties, Free-body diagrams, structural loads and, analysis methods
Experience in utilizing FEM software (e.g., ABAQUS, PATRAN/NASTRAN, Hyperworks)
Experience or training with computer programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Python, Visual Basic)
Experience in utilizing industry CAD systems (e.g. CATIA/ENOVIA)
Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
