What You’ll Do:
The Employment Opportunity Specialist/Job Developer, as part of the Employment Team will match and market clients to suitable employment and learning opportunities. Acting as a true collaborator, they will develop relationships with individual clients, the ATN team, our employer partnerships and our larger community. The Employment Opportunity Specialist/Job Developer will ensure service delivery standards in accordance with all regulatory bodies, funder, and organizational defined outcomes and guidelines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with clients to determine strengths and create job development action plans
  • Match clients with employment opportunities secured through the job development process
  • Assist employers with creating adaptive interview, onboarding and on-the-job training plans
  • Liaise with employers and clients during all stages of job opportunities to facilitate ongoing and sustainable employment
  • Conduct weekly check ins with all active employment partners and clients
  • Provide job coaching and mentoring support to clients, including attending interviews, working entire shifts with clients, creating job aids, implementing accessibility plans, and supporting the transition into the workforce
  • Regularly assess, re-evaluate and document clients’ progress and adjust plans to meet individual needs
  • Develop promotional materials for employers and community partners
  • Maintain the directory of new and existing employment partnerships
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and/or employers
  • Meet or exceed the work placement and employment targets per funding contract
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma or a combination of education, professional development and employment experience
  • Business and/or Social Service experience is an asset
  • Case Management experience
  • Cross-functional team player and collaborator with excellent communication, and relationship building skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly flexible, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse client base

POLICE RECORDS CHECK AND VULNERABLE POSITION SCREENING
This position requires incumbents to submit a current Police Records Check and Vulnerable
Position Screening from their local police service. A current ATN employee who is the successful candidate for this position must also provide this document unless it is already on file and not more than two years old.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will require the incumbent to work in a seated position for part of each day for administrative responsibilities, with minimal lifting requirements. There is some exposure to dust, dirt, odors, noise and temperature. The incumbent may be required to deal with individuals, including alone or in close confines, who may be potentially dangerous and / or exposed to rudeness or profanity. Interruptions are constant throughout the day due to email, telephone calls and others. Regular travel is required.
