The Ottawa Catholic Child Care Corporation (OCCCC) is a non-profit organization offering non-denominational child care programs for children aged 18 months to 12 years. We operate 20 licensed child care sites throughout the Ottawa area. Our centres are all located in schools operated by the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

Job description

A term preschool Educator is required for Crestway Early Learning Centre located in St. Andrew school in Barrhaven. The program is licensed by the Ministry of Education. The program provides preschool, kindergarten and school age care.

Our programs provide relaxed, recreational and educational programs in a child-centred environment, where children can safely learn through play. This philosophy is guided by Conscious Discipline®, an approach which encourages the educators working with the child(ren) to consciously respond to daily conflict, transforming it into an opportunity to teach critical life skills to children. The Conscious Discipline® focus begins with providing safety, both physically and emotionally, for all children; then creates an environment that aids in healthy connections among and with children in order to facilitate meaningful problem-solving.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have successfully completed an Early Childhood Education program, and provide proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Experience working with toddlers and preschool children is preferred.
• A police record check for the vulnerable sector dated within six (6) months is required upon hire.
• Standard First Aid and Infant/Child CPR dated within three (3) years is also required.
• Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is a condition of employment with the Ottawa Catholic Child Care Corporation.

This is a term position for 35 hours per week. The term is from February 6th, 2023- January 5, 2024. The current shifts rotate monthly; 7:00-3:00, 8:30-4:30 and 9:00-1:00 & 2:45-5:45 (subject to change).

The annual salary is $53, 599 plus 4% vacation.
