Job Overview:

The Director of Projects is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating all aspects of Kavanaugh projects under the guidance of the General Manager/President.

Key Responsibilities:

• Make decisions related to personnel, equipment and development, overall budget, and project strategy.
• Request project documentation including business requirements, system requirements, functional design requirements, and human resource requirements.
• Assess and confirm the pre-requisites needed to initiate project activities.
• Direct the project plan, including the milestones, cost, and key deliverables.
• Lead team members by overseeing the project tasks and ensuring all activities are undertaken as planned.
• Guide the project teams to deliver results.
• Follow up project schedules and prepare necessary documents for training and orientation of team.
• Schedule project targets for every team member.
• Maintain communication channels with critical stakeholders, including clients, the production team, and the project lead. The Director of Projects will enhance collaboration among stakeholders to minimize the diversion of project outcomes from expected results.
• Manage project expectations, confirming adherence of project activities to best practices.
• Monitor the project progress and report to the General Manager

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of relative experience in either the construction, civil works, or transportation industry
• At least 10 years of experience in project planning or managing role
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• In-depth knowledge of project management
• Ability to provide leadership to a team.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to manage project budgets and timelines
• Ability to work on tight schedules and deliver within the required time.
• Ability to collaborate with different departments to provide project feedback to various stakeholders.
• Strong numerical skills and competency in computer programs, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
• Must be authorized to legally work in Canada
• Must reside in Canada
