Summary:
We are seeking a Consultant with a strong background in software development and business analysis to join our team of experts. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support throughout the software development lifecycle, including business analysis. You will need to be a software generalist with a good understanding of various programming languages and technologies, and an interest in solving challenging decision support data analysis business problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in the business analysis portions of the discovery phase to understand client requirements and provide software solutions to meet their needs.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Participate in the design, development, and testing of software applications.
- Identify technical issues and develop solutions to address them.
- Document technical solutions and provide training to clients as needed.
Requirements:
- Canadian citizenship
- Ability to maintain a Government of Canada Level 2 (Secret) Security Clearance
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development or consulting
- Proficient in multiple programming languages and technologies such as JavaScript, Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, and SQL
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall
- Strong business analysis skills with experience in gathering requirements, writing user stories, and testing
- Familiarity with software design patterns and principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong command of oral and written English
- Able to work onsite most of the time

Kindly note:
Location: 95% Onsite, 5% Remote
Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate will be required to live in the National Capital Region (Ottawa-Gatineau metropolitan area) of Canada and (for security reasons) be able to work onsite at Department of National Defence Headquarters (60 Moodie Dr) almost full time. (A small amount of off-site work is possible.)
