Aston Carter's large energy client in Calgary is looking to add a Consolidation Accountant to their team. This is on a 12 month contract to hire basis with high intent to go permanent pending performance and needs.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

• Perform the monthly consolidations
• Manage the consolidation system, including testing and implementing changes to the chart of accounts and metadata, troubleshooting etc.
• Liaise with the Accounting groups in Canada and Europe, as well as other areas of the business
• Preparation of quarterly internal reports for management
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual submissions and external financial statement and note to the financial statements
• Preparation of the annual budget consolidation and reconciliation
• Complete special projects as required (e.g. implementation of financial systems, process improvement efficiencies, tax planning structure, project financing, acquisition due diligence, purchase price accounting, set-up of new transactions)
• Other ad hoc duties as required

MUST HAVE:

• Either in process of CPA or completed
• Bachelors degree, accounting or business
• 2+ years of consolidation accounting experience

-Excel skills- intermediate level

NICE TO HAVE:

• Business Consolidation System experience
• SAP or Hyperion
