AFT & Payments Senior Architect Job at Prodigy Labs

As a Lead AFT Architect, you will design and develop modern integrated AFT and Payment Solutions for the Credit Union Fintech space. Reporting to the CIO, you will work with project managers, infrastructure architects, vendor architects and developers, QA professionals and client teams to deliver the very best in Payment Solutions modernization.

Responsibilities

  • Leading AFT (vendor) development teams
  • Facilitating technical requirement-gathering sessions with internal and external teams
  • Assist in managing development sprints, source control, code and release quality.
  • Assist in estimating new project timelines, cost and resource needs.
  • Communicating progress, timelines, risks and deliverables to client stakeholders
  • Coding and providing support to most complex customization features, if required
  • Writing System Requirement Specifications (SRS) documents, when required
  • Work with PMs and developers to design simpler and faster solutions that can be delivered timely and on budget
  • Integrating highly customized third-party and legacy solutions via APIs and Integration Lawyer construction be proactive in providing leadership and direction
  • Ensure recommendations or concerns are addressed in a timely fashion.
  • Address and resolve major issues as they arise.
  • Ensure stakeholders are engaged on critical decisions that affecting their organizations
  • Provide governance/oversight to architectural direction.
  • Provide initiation and oversight to Architectural Review Board/Design Authority
  • Responsible for overseeing vendor deliverables.
  • Lead regular touch points with the vendors.
  • Review and approve key artefacts.
  • Communicate and escalate issues or risks and help devise and deliver strategies to resolve
  • Accountable for ensure successful delivery of that workstream.
  • Prepare solution design for all delivery components including vendor deliverables
  • Review documentation as requested by the respective project manager.
  • Provide feedback and call out key gaps, risks to architecture issues for the workstream
  • Make recommendations and help to resolve identified gaps, issues, risks
  • Create/maintain architectural documents as needed or directed by the project manager
  • Ensure all architectural documents are uploaded to the repository and kept current
  • Responsible for documenting requirements/processes/test cases as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent; MS CS or Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years developing payment solutions including AFT and Wires
  • Demonstrated experience in leading development teams.
  • Success in leading hybrid on- and off-shore teams
  • Exceptional problem solving and great client-facing communication skills, including telephone and in-person presentations
  • Ability to adapt and pick up new technologies and software languages.
  • Consulting background is a plus.

AFT & Payment Required Skills

  • Originator Management
  • Posting, Settlement and Pre-Settlement Operations and reporting
  • Integration to Legacy Backend processing and Legacy Decommissioning
  • Inbound and Outbound routing and processing
  • Engine Ingestions (ESQL) Validations
  • File formats and Transactional Types (for A to J records)
  • Strong knowledge of Integration Layer and APIs construction
  • Good understanding of TXN volume optimization and Non-Functional Testing (NFT)
  • Payments Canada reporting

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of ACSS (National) Settlement Report would be a great asset
  • Knowledge of AFT Billing process to end clients would be a great asset
  • IBM Payments Centre Canada (IPCC) Knowledge would be a great asset.
  • Knowledge of CPA005 Standards would be an asset
  • Familiarity with Standard 7 (STD7) files would be an Asset.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to meet with clients in Western Canada
