The Position: We are looking for a full-time Accounting Assistant to join our team with an immediate start date. This individual will report to both the President and the Controller, while supporting the management team and administrative needs of the company.
Compensation:
- $45,000 – $65,000/year

Accountanting Assistant Duties:
- General bookkeeping duties including invoice and payables
- Prepare working papers to support reporting requirements in keeping with the reporting schedule
- Assist in the preparation of board materials, audited financial statements and related notes
- Assist the Controller with the daily accounting processes and month-end close to ensure timely and accurate financial statements, budget vs. actual analysis and analytics
- Audit, analyze and evaluate financial transaction data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assist the Controller in preparing reports i.e. winter work, timecard analysis report, internal hours report, etc.
- Participate in preparing and auditing materials requiring analyses of supporting documents
- Provide value-add to the business by pro-active problem solving and timely communication
- Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested
- Work list development, schedule adherence and follow up on reports and improvements
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain, prepare and file documents as requested (binders, reports, spreadsheets, meeting minutes, etc.)
- Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents; prepare supporting documents as necessary
- Copy files e.g. purchase order, drawing, packing slips, and reports to job files
- Assist with ISO and continuous improvement initiatives
- Draft acknowledgement letters, personal correspondence, and other tasks
- Manage Calendars
- Support the Presidents desk and perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to build financial models
- Strong understanding of finance best practices
- Active listening with excellent ability to clearly and effectively communicate information
- Attention to detail, focus on deliverables and ability to provide timely analysis
- Capable of thinking critically and solving problems in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary education with a focus in business or accounting
- 5 years relevant accounting experience
